How to Pick A "Best Of The Best" Wine

What makes a wine truly great?

The best of the best. The creme de la creme. The wines that stand above all others.

Is it the winemaker, is it the location, or simply the grape (maybe its all three?). Does an expensive wine guarantee a great taste?

Not all wines are equal, and not everyone’s tastes align, so we asked our Head of Trading, Antoine Huray to explain the difference between a good wine, and a great one.

In this video, you’ll see Antoine take a look at the 2019 Thompson Estate Four Chambers Cabernet Sauvignon, a veritable bargain that was ranked #71 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2021, and the 2021 Tapanappa Foggy Hill Clone 114 Pinot Noir, an ethereal 96 point wine from one of Australia’s most revered winemakers.
