Standish Lamella Shiraz 2024

The people's champion. From the historic Hutton Vale vineyard comes a wine that somehow manages to feel both powerful and graceful at the same time. Graphite, spice, dried rose petals and dark fruit roll across the palate, but it's the tannins that steal the show. They linger for what feels like minutes, leaving a memory that stays long after the last sip.

Tasting Notes

Perfumed, graceful and quietly powerful. Lamella moves through red and blue fruits, raspberry, plum, black cherry and mulberry, with violet, orange peel, graphite, wet stone and fine spice adding layers. The palate is silky and expansive, but held in check by mineral tension and suede-like tannins. There’s a lovely whole-bunch savouriness here too, bringing spice and energy. It feels effortless now, but this has the bones to build beautifully over time.

Product Highlights

"This is a wine that you feel as much as you taste and smell."
98 Points | Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Every Standish wine has its devotees. Lamella might have the most passionate following of them all.

Sourced from the historic Hutton Vale vineyard in Eden Valley, this is often the wine collectors point to when discussing the most site-expressive wine in the range. Cooler, more restrained and more mineral than its Barossa siblings, Lamella has always marched to the beat of its own drum. The 2024 vintage is no exception.

Produced with 100% whole bunches, it is a wine of extraordinary texture and presence. Gravel, graphite, dried rose petals, licorice and spice are woven together by a framework of tannins that seem to linger indefinitely.

Erin Larkin described it perfectly. This is a wine you feel as much as you taste.

Powerful, yes. But more importantly, unforgettable.

For many collectors, Lamella is the bottle they reach for first.
