"Far too sweet for my tastes. Prefer a much drier champagne."
Want to drink some REAL Champagne without the triple-digit price tag? Forget the big brand pull and massive marketing budgets of the famous Champagne houses. Instead, enjoy reserve-quality wines like this NV Champagne Baron Fuente Brut Tradition, and pay less.
Champagne Baron Fuente's story began in 1962 (quite recent by Champagne standards) when Gabriel Baron and Dolorès Fuenté received a single hectare of vines from Gabriel's father as a wedding gift. Their first wines were released in 1967. Since then, the Baron family have carefully expanded their estate—now totalling 40 hectares—and produce a small but charismatic range of Champagnes.
With this Brut Tradition NV, you're tasting the core of the Baron Fuenté lineup—a classy, nuanced, and impressively pure Champagne made using 40% reserve wines. The final cuvée matures for over five years on lees and is bottled with a low dosage.
The wine shows a delicate, pale white-gold colour, predominantly made from Pinot Noir and Meunier, with just a touch of Chardonnay. Aromatically, it's floral and exotic, balanced by a subtle, doughy richness anchoring the wildflower notes. On the palate, it is well-balanced, fresh, and finishes cleanly.
This is Champagne as it should be. And despite being every bit as good (we actually think better) than its more famous cousins, it comes at an extraordinarily affordable price.

"Bought this batch to serve at our daughter's wedding. That's the trust we have in TWC. . . ."
"We live this producer and but the NV all the time - I specially when it is on sale. A beautifully balanced dry champagne with steady bubbles, a little bit of toasty yeast and a long finish. You can’t go wrong with this champagne and it beats the bigger houses with their rather bland offerings every time."
"Disappointing in taste and sparkle"
