Very mineral and precise, showing aromas of fresh lemon peel, flint, red apples, river stones and grapefruit. The medium-bodied palate has high-tension acidity supported by an underlying power. Delicate and refined with plenty of complexity to unravel with time in bottle. Excellent.

The 2023 Les Beaux Cailloux Chardonnay is mineral and tightly wound on the nose, with fleshy fruit on the middle palate and toasty oak through the finish. The wine is decidedly nutty, with crushed cashews and brine to close. This is far less restrained than previous years, offering a more overt, bold finish. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
