Winemakers Notes
Château Grand Mayne, a Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion to follow!
Grand Mayne is surely one of the most promising property among the Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Emilion, with its "pied de côte" vineyard producing high quality wines.
In the 90's, the estate was already a forerunner: important works have been undertaken to build an underground cellar and the property has been advised by Michel Rolland for twenty years. Today, Jean-Antoine and Damien Nony are the third generation at the helm of the estate. They are part of Bordeaux Oxygen, an association of young producers/owners, among which Mathieu Cuvelier from Clos Fourtet, Jean Triaud from Gloria and Saint-Pierre, or Juliette Bécot from Beau Séjour Bécot, which promote their wines in a dynamic and different way.
The quality of the wine is constantly improving. The 2022 vintage is clearly a new milestone in the history of Grand Mayne. This particularly successful vintage is praised by the international press, like Antonio Galloni who has rated the wine 94-96 points, saying, 'It's a superb Grand Mayne in the making'.
