The name, “The Mill”, comes from the old flour mill, which was originally built in 1861 in the region, and revived back in 1994. Fermentation for this easy drinking style of Chardonnay was in stainless steel tanks, followed by a further four months on lees to enhance the texture. Deep straw in colour, the nose reveals notes of spices, orange rinds, florals most especially white jasmine, mandarins, stone fruits, a flick of nuts and hints of cinnamon. Neatly balanced, this is a pleasing and rather enjoyable style for enjoying over the next twelve to twenty-four months.

Organic Chardonnay from the Central Ranges, fermentation was in stainless steel, followed by a further four months on lees. The aim is freshness and flavour and indeed, the wine is fresh, lean and attractive with aromas weaving through floral notes, spices, apricots, figs and citrus. This is a gentle style with medium length and good focus that would be a fine match for fresh seafood.

This is attractively expressed on the nose, showing apricot, rockmelon, vanilla, and roasted hazelnut aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with rounded mouthfeel and well-pitched acidity, finishing lingering and smooth. Beautifully balanced with elegance and immediate drinkability.

Nice
"A nice middle-of-the-road wine. Not too thick, not too thin, not too much oak, not too much acid. Colour and nose are nice, too."
