Nero can look a little confected, but not so here. The savouriness and bright, juicy appeal are keenly matched or, rather, intertwined. Black cherry and sarsaparilla, dried raspberry and dark spices, a trimming of woody herbs. It’s medium in scale, with ‘ripe’ fine tannins and an enlivening zip of acidity to close, giving this ready charm along with purpose at table.
