From vines planted on the family vineyard in '11, this was fermented in steel and older oak, with the barrel portion going through mlf; both parcels were lees stirred. Picked early, this is coolly aromatic, in a refined way, with cape gooseberry, nashi, celery seed, tomatillo, butter lettuce and green apple sorbet. That barrel component has fleshed out the mid-palate, yielding a textural sway, and a keenly judged one at that.

Gary Walsh - The Wine Front

Planted in 2011. This is a lively and frisky expression of Fiano, but it does have pleasing powdery/peppery texture. Green pear, citrus, green herb, fennel, something like a celery character too. It’s also a little nutty and saline, and has light grip and freshness on a finish of good length, some green apple and lemon zest to close. It’s light-on in a way, but that kind of works as a positive in that it’s such a bouncy and vibrant wine that’s easy to guzzle.

The well-made 2024 Fiano Upper Tintara is restrained while showing attractive complexity. It has nectarine and floral aromas, with touches of savory oak and lees adding interest. This is nicely textured, with a firm bite of acidity providing definition and genuine length to the finish.
