2024 Giant Steps Bastard Hill Vineyard Chardonnay

This wine is only produced in small quantities and is normally very difficult to secure a parcel of the wine. Chardonnay lovers rejoice as this is one to celebrate. Bright citrus and stone fruit flavours, lifted by fine acidity and gentle oak. It’s refined, expressive, and made with real attention to detail — just the way I like it. Drinking exceptionally now and will develop beautifully with some cellaring.

Product Highlights

From an elevated vineyard (400m) in Gladysdale planted in 1987, this wine has tight structure, mineral drive, and age-worthiness. Only 200 dozen exist, blink and it's gone!

Philip Rich: “Precise and mineral driven, with aromas of just-ripened orchard fruits, lemon zest and a touch of struck match. A slow but steady burn... culminating in a long, structured and saline finish.”

This wine has stamina, a slow-burning finish that runs the full course like a seasoned long-distance champ.
