In a proprietorial bottle with 'certified organic' now on the front label. The fruit sources are from across the region; 12 months in seasoned French oak. A cool year, yet a good bit of regional power, which is held well in check. Blackberry, mulberry, judicious spice, coffee and bitter chocolate, some maritime notes, iron oxide and earth. The palate has some saline slip to the supple mid-palate, tannins built to accommodate cellaring, even at the modest sticker price. Value plus.

The 2023 Catapult Shiraz is juicy and bright, populated by red and black fruits and shaped by fine, spicy tannins. I like the freshness and airiness of this wine and find it to be wholly more cohesive and harmonious than the last vintage tasted. The cool, wet 2023 season has produced a Shiraz here of leafiness and spice, and these characters contribute to the overall feeling of levity. This is an attractive wine. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
