The 2023 Riesling Kiedricher Turmberg Trockenbeerenauslese has an amber tinge to its golden color. This was made from grapes raisined by botrytis but without spores. Lemon honey and a touch of conifer resin are heady, enticing and delicious on the nose, lifted and pervasive. The second sniff offers a touch of candied peach, while the palate is a marvel of precision. Thrillingly concentrated acidity is reminiscent of candied bergamot peel, as aromatic as it is sweet, countering and cutting that luscious sweetness in a hair-raising fashion. It is the acid that makes this wine, cutting it with laser precision and defining it in all its eternal, indestructible, essential glory. It is a marvel that such purity and poise can stem from such sweetness. Yes, this is luscious, but it is still balanced. More than 14 g/L of acidity (!) stands against 300 g/L of sugar. (Luscious)

It’s hard to imagine that there are dried apricots anywhere on the planet that can compare with this wine for aroma. Incredibly rich but no less bright, with a breathtaking freshness and clarity. Full-bodied, as is usual for this category, but with an almost supernatural vitality in the endless finish. Very limited production. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.

Rich, dark yellow. Aroma of concentrated dried fruit, candied lime, forest honey, baked apple. Intense acidity on the palate, freshness, lots of sweetness and drive, caramelised citrus fruit, subtle salted caramel, very dense, mineral-grounded and long.

The 2023 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is precise, very intense and remarkably coolish on the nose, with concentrated lemon as well as smoky and even partly ash-like nuances with iodine slate notes. Round, intense and immaculate in texture, this is a sweet and saline TBA with a savory and crystalline finish. From fruit picked over an extended amount of time, the wine contains early, medium and later-picked raisins, but no berries came in earlier than mid-October and the latest in mid-November. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.

A soaring Trocken style Riesling, this bottling from the Kiedrich Turmberg vineyard, a site rated as Erste Lage or premier cru, in relation to the Grosse Lage or grand cru. It's a stunning example from the steep vineyard. Pinpoint precision of stony minerality and smoky flint on the aromatics. The palate is sea salt, savoury lemon verbena, dried herbs, and such an impressive length with a balance that is ethereal in complexity. Tart lemon pulp delivers a concentrated fruit note on the finish.

The 2023 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling Trocken is clear, coolish and fresh on the intense and stony/mineral layered nose that indicates a classical Rheingau style from phyllite soils. Elegant and refined, this mouth-filling, saline and savory Riesling develops a long, intense and wonderfully stringent finish. The wine is full-bodied and concentrated and driven by the energy and piquancy of the rockier Turmberg soils and its exposition. This is long, savory and saline. 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.

Bright and energetic, with a lively mix of citrus zest, ripe pear, and yellow apple. Hints of white pepper and wet stone add complexity, while the crisp acidity keeps it fresh and structured. A refined, mineral-driven finish lingers elegantly.
