Product Highlights
Late last year, this renowned Barossa winemaker – a custodian of some of the world’s oldest vines – uncovered a unique parcel of fruit that demanded exceptional treatment. Set apart from the rest, it was nurtured with artisanal care and bottled under a new, one-off vintage label. At the cellar door, this masterpiece commands $450 a bottle, a reflection of its stature and ambition.
This is the essence of Barossa. This is the uniqueness of Australian Shiraz. Velvet in a glass, with flavours that linger long after the sip. Think cocoa, violets, charcuterie, warm spices, boysenberry, blackberry, coffee beans, and vanilla. It's a symphony of layered flavours and tannins, with earthy warmth and a hint of smoked oak adding a savoury depth.
Made by Dean... If I told you his last name, you'd know the wine. But let’s just say, the affectionately dubbed Mad Hatter of Barossa is back with a bang. We’re talking black-fruited, pepper-spiced, French oak-finessed brilliance. Smoky bacon whiffs, a lick of eucalypt, velvet tannins, and enough poise to make a ballerina jealous. Decant it now or stash it away, with this much balance and concentration, it’s got years of greatness ahead.
The last vintage scored 99 points. This one? Already clocking 98 from Wine Orbit and 96 from Winepilot. No biggie... just maybe one of the most exciting Shiraz releases of the year.
