Matt Walls - Decanter

This has a lovely almond scent, with a touch of dry honey, petrichor and apricot. Floral honeysuckle notes come through too, it's very attractive. Full-bodied, but still has a lightness of touch. There's a noticeable salty element, with balanced acidity, good intensity, and a fairly long finish. Really quite tight and fresh, and does have some Château-Grillet character. The oak touch is light. The 2023 vintage was fairly unhurried, with no rain pressure to pick. The quality of this wine bodes well for the 2023 vintage of the Grand Vin.

Finely ripe apricot, tints of white peach, lemon flesh and honeysuckle introduce the 2023 Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc. Showcasing spot-on overall ripeness of fruit and gentle phenolic bite on the sapid close, the medium-bodied 2023 is a delightful white Côtes-du-Rhône, shaping the final moment with subtly salty undertones.
