Vibrant purple-splashed crimson in the glass with aromas of super-ripe satsuma plum, blueberry and blackberry fruits. High-toned notes of citrus blossom and violets along with layers of spice, licorice, dark chocolate, fruitcake, panforte, olive tapenade and earth. Fine, sandy tannins provide ample structure for the plush black and dark fruits, the structure boding well for an extended cellaring potential.

Dark-fruited aromas of blood plums, blackberry compote, red licorice, baking spices and mulberries. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving flavors of mulberries, bitter chocolate and an imposing yet integrated oak character.

This is a quality shiraz with ripe blackberry, plum, sawdust, mace and sweet spice notes running throughout. It has oak and it has (plenty of) fruit but it also has freshness, and juiciness, which is important, not to mention enjoyable. There’s an argument to say that this needs time to integrate that bit more but then, it’s drinks pretty damn well now.
