There is a subregional characters about this cabernet from the northern end of Margaret River. Aromas of blackcurrant with an olive tapenade, bay leaf and oyster shell minerality on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with bright red fruits augmented with a juicy blackberry and light cedary influence. A very tidy cabernet.

I’m not sure who was making the Rosily wines prior to Mike Lemmes coming back in 2023, but they show a heavy hand in the winery. I think going forward, these wines will become much better. 40% new French oak. A lot of mint, and obvious custardy oak. In with that blackberry, seaweed, tangy acidity, again the oak, with a finish of decent length, though it closes with dry powdery coffee tannin. The quality of fruit seems pretty good, but gee, the winemaking overlay is overt. I find this hard to love.
