Winemaking encourages deep and dense structures but with spice and minerality. Aromatics of rose hip, liquorice and black jube, blueberry fruits with dark plums. Powerful, long and lingering, loads of plum and raspberry fruit sitting neatly with savoury tannin and licks of vanilla.

Tempranillo appears to go very well in Geographe, and these guys have been making one of the best. This is a wine of plush smooth medium bodied fruit displaying a slightly grainy gravelly textural feel. Brilliant red colour with traces of crimson. A fine chalky tannin influence and just a little oak to balance. Ideal food wine in the next few years.

Sweet cherry, red liquorice, salt and stony tannins. There’s ripeness and firmness in this wine but also a good refreshment. It doesn’t strike as super complex, no need to be, but with solid fruit core, tannin structure, and elements of woody spice and coffee. Tasty medium-weight red.

This fragrant red has notes of rosemary, black cherries, black plums and paprika on the nose. It’s full-bodied with fine-grained tannins elegantly framing the black fruit. Spicy at the end.

The 2022 Solana Tempranillo leads with cherry fruit and raspberry, graphite tannin and asphalt. It is gritty, gray and spicy, with a flow of attractive fruit through the palate. Texturally, the wine has profuse tannins, and these hold the fruit in place. It's a beautiful wine, one of the better Tempranillos from Western Australia year after year. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
