Winemakers Notes
World of Vignobles K
The Vignobles K Group, a family company, was created in 2014, regrouping 7 wine properties, situated on the best terroirs on 4 prestigious appellations of Bordeaux, included Château Bellefont-Belcier (Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé), Château Haut-Brisson (Saint Emilion Grand Cru), Château Tour Saint Christophe (Saint Emilion Grand Cru), Château La Patache (Pomerol), Enclos Tourmaline (Pomerol). Peter Kwok, the group's owner, is a Bordeaux wine lover and a French culture lover.
Château Tour Saint Christophe, vines on singular narrow terraces
Château Tour Saint Christophe is located in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes at the frontiers of Saint-Émilion. The vineyard is a unique feature in Saint-Emilion, as it is partly planted on narrow terraces where the vineyard is tended in tight rows. This cascading landscape unfolds on the hillside of Cassevert overlooking the Saint Laurent valley.
Château Tour Saint Christophe was acquired by Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen in 2012.
The World of 2021 Vintage
DEPTH - FRESHNESS - SILKINESS
The weather conditions
This vintage has a special resonance for Château Tour Saint Christophe which is now
officially committed to organic farming.
The severe frosts of April spared the vineyard. From May onwards, the weather conditions complicated the work of the
vinegrowers, but the vigilance, rigour and unfailing investment of the teams enabled to curb the significant pressure of mildew and to provide the best care for the vines until the end of the summer.
From mid-September onwards, the weather conditions became ideal. Beautiful days with large temperature variations favoured phenolic ripening and preserved the aromas.
The winemaking process is little interventionist in order to preserve the subtlety of the aromas, the silkiness of the tannins, which are characteristic of this vintage, and the typicity of the terroirs. Fermentations are carried out without addition of
sulfur, only a minimum dose will be added at the end of ageing.
