A bright and vibrant expression of McLaren Vale Grenache from this excellent year. Distinctive mix of blue fruits merging with cherry and floral rose petal nuances. Such an engaging and captivating perfume wafts from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a seamless oak and fruit integration sitting comfortably with fine chalky tannins. Has a slightly succulent palate feel. Really attractive wine.

If ever there was a safe bet, it has to be the delicious reds from McLaren Vale and the Barossa from the brilliant 2021 vintage (Riesling from the Clare in 21, 22 and 24 is another, but I digress). Good McLaren Vale Grenache has finally got the attention of the world, deservedly so. The colour here is blood red, with notes of warm earth, woodsmoke, red apples, freshly extinguished campfires, milk chocolate, strawberries and red fruits. A hint of almost transparent oak with quite gritty tannins, in keeping with what the variety can offer, and decent length. An attractive style, pleasingly varietal, with real promise. Enjoy it for at least the next four to six years.
