Curtis the Gladiator ‘21 Shiraz
"This McLaren Vale wine is a cracker. Superb mouth feel, lovely taste with a smooth finish. Highly recommend."
Make way for a McLaren Vale heavyweight. Sourced from 80-year-old vines and aged a bold 36 months in oak, ‘The Gladiator’ isn’t here to play nice, it’s here to dominate.
Expect a full-on flavour assault of rich plum, dark chocolate, clove, and bourbon spice, all wrapped in a velvety, cellar-worthy frame. Ray Jordan gave it 96 points, while Ned Goodwin MW dubbed it “a behemoth… built on solid qualitative pillars”. Big flavours. Bigger presence. And a well-earned place on any serious Shiraz lover’s table.

"This McLaren Vale wine is a cracker. Superb mouth feel, lovely taste with a smooth finish. Highly recommend."
"Easy to drink now with plenty of years in front of it."
"An amazing drop, powerful Shiraz with lots of tannins that should give it a long potential cellaring life, if you can wait that long. Decanted and enjoyed with a thick juicy steak, yum."
"I was excited to add some bottles of The Gladiator to my cellar at a good price. Will be leaving to mature for several more years before trying."
"Lived up to my expectations. Very nice shiraz."
"I got The Gladiator in a special, mixed pack of premium wines from the Wine Collective. It was the first of the dozen that I opened and boy was it good. It retails at $228 at the Curtis Winery cellar door in McLarenvale but have since bought six more at the special price of $60 I the Wine Collective’s EOFY sale. Some to give away to special friends and a few for us to drink."
"I bought this wine in a mixed dozen, and it was absolutely sublime. One of the most delicious wines I’ve had in a long time. Very smooth and flavourful it was just amazing. When I saw it on the site, I immediately had to buy it even at $60 per bottle it is definitely worth it!"
