Tasting Notes

Deep, full, ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on edge. The nose is full and vibrant, with aromas of red and black currants, plums and blackberries entwined with vine leaf, cedar and tobacco. Full-bodied, concentrated fruit formed a firm core, displaying cassis, blackberries and plums, melded with vine leaf, unfolding savoury earth, tobacco and cedar. The mouthfeel is rich and mineral-textural, with firm, tight-knitted tannins contributing to vitality and structure. The subtle fragrance of vine leaf added a layer to succulent yet savoury fruit. This Gimblett Gravels red blend shows excellent, flavoursome fruit with cedar and tobacco quality and structured mouthfeel. Match with tomahawk and balsamic glazed short ribs over the next 8-10 years. Raymond Chan 94 Points
