Needs decanting and time to breathe
"First pour straight form t he bottle to glass not really balanced. Decanting and breathing resulted in a more harmonious wine"
When Grenache blends are taken seriously, you get a wine like this. It comes from Taltarni, one of the founding estates of the Pyrenees and a producer that’s been turning out some of the country’s standout reds since the 1960s. Now under the direction of Rob Heywood - whose winemaking experience stretches from Saint-Émilion to Napa and Barossa before returning home to Victoria - Taltarni has been pushed to consistent Halliday 5-star status. So this is far from a throwaway blend.
Made with cool-climate Shiraz and Grenache doing most of the heavy lifting, it’s a cracking red with juicy dark fruit, blackberry, plum and spice, plus enough structure to keep everything nicely in line. And with six years under its belt, it’s drinking beautifully right now.

"The Taltarni Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre 2020 is such a different wine and very enjoyable. It is rich and fruity and I loved it."
"A good, every day GSM with that softness but also plenty of flavour. Went well with a Chinese pork braise."
