A blend of shiraz, mataro and grenache sourced from various sites across the Barossa, matured in predominantly American oak, 20% new for 16 months. Deep crimson with aromas of satsuma plum, boysenberry and mulberry fruits cut with baking spice, violets, licorice, sarsaparilla, fruit cake and earth. A rush of pure plummy fruit on the palate underscored by dark spice, vanillin oak and salted licorice. Fine sandy tannins lend support, and there is an impressive flourish of spicy, black and dark fruits on the finish.

Accolade Wines acquired Rolf Binder Wines last year. This 2020 Shiraz blend was one of Rolf’s last contributions to his wine company and it reflects his general love of larger-than-life Shiraz. It’s all here. Unashamedly big and bold in style with a wealth of ripe, sweet black berries, black cherry, chocolate, pan forte, dates, spice and oak. Spicy, cedary oak meets and surpasses the fruit. A touch old school with a big mouthful of flavour that makes a powerful statement.
