Tasting Notes

Deep red with purple hues. A heady perfume of violet, raspberry and mulberry, layered with a subtle pop of cedar and graphite. The palate shows great concentration combined with immense brightness and poise, intense blackcurrant enmeshed with a hint of salted plum and cocoa powder. Seductive, velvet like tannins, juicy and moreish, build to an expansive, long finish.  This wine is delicious now, however careful cellaring until 2030 will reward.

You know it’s worth listening to. This 2020 Mystery Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon was originally destined for Hong Kong, made with Reserve-tier fruit from an amazing Margaret River vineyard. But when the deal fell over, we were able to secure the lot, and pass the savings on to you.

2020 was a stellar vintage for Cabernet in Margaret River, and this wine delivers power, poise, and serious pedigree. Aged 18 months in new and seasoned barrels, it’s packed full of blackcurrant, mulberry, cocoa dust, and crushed aniseed, wrapped in gravelly tannins and a long, salt-kissed finish.

We have to keep this one a mystery due to its striking resemblance to their $90 Reserve label, but at a fraction of the $40 RRP, this is a an absolute barnstorming Margaret River bargain.
