The Deep Woods story is all about Julian Langworthy. If you’re a regular Wine Collective member you would have heard us talk a lot about him - he’s one of our absolute favourite winemakers.
When you have this James Halliday Winemaker of the Year and Jimmy Watson winner running the show, then you've already got a head start - he is indisputably one of the top winemakers in the country and with Deep Woods he is at the very top of his game.
They show several ranges of wines, from Estate to Reserve Grand Selection, but the Redlands series is where you can find some real value for money.
‘Deep intense reds and violets. Bold Cabernet notes here, with blackfruits, cigar box characters, chocolate, cassis and more. Terrific nose. The palate is supple and the tannins on the finish are very fine. Juicy youthful flavours, but there is some serious intensity here, right through to a long and impressive finish. Delicious now, but no issue in cellaring it over the next four to five years, even longer. Like this a lot.’ 93 points, Ken Gargett, Winepilot
