This has been extracted with precision and early to mid-term drinking in mind, without sacrificing flavour or the integrity of cabernet's inherent graphite tannic strictures. There is a dollop of Merlot (11%) and franc (4%) for fill and lift respectively. 18 months in quality oak. Delicious. Currant and berry fruit. Hedgerow tannins, gently guiding. This is gorgeous Yarra cabernet."

Philip Rich - Halliday Wine Companion

A single-vineyard wine made from 32yo vines grown at Dixon's Creek. A medium deep, crimson red. There are aromas of blackcurrant pastille, cedar – from the already well-integrated 40% new French oak – and melted licorice. There's a hint of tomato leaf too, giving the wine some lift. Medium bodied, elegant and persistent, with the super-fine-grained tannins providing structure. There's a nice each-way bet here, between enjoying this now or watching it become even more complex over the next 6 or so years.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front

Yarra Valley cabernet to a tee. It sits a smidgen above mid-weight, it carries blackcurrant and redcurrant flavours in equal measure, it’s laced with cocoa and has a light, lifted smattering of bay and general leaf matter, bordering on tobacco. Tannin curls convincingly through the finish, and there’s enough length to satisfy. Give this some air and it fills out nicely too.
