Tasting Notes

Deep purple/red, with purple hues. Blackcurrant, red berries, mocha, dark chocolate, hints of violet, with underlying cedar notes. Complex and engaging. Red and blue fruits to start. The flavours build to a beautifully textural mid palate, supported by the spicy oak, and gently fade with finely honed tannins. The length of the palate is a magical combination of the fruit and silky fine tannins. This wine manages to display a beautifully lithe feel, while still retaining the classic Margaret River structure.

Product Highlights

There's something quite special about Margaret River Cabernet, especially when it's made exceptionally well. The Flowstone Queen of the Earth represents the best parcels of fruit in any vintage and is a beacon of quality. This received a 95-point rating from Halliday and Huon Hooke and already has four years of bottle age, so it drinks brilliantly. Otherwise, you could confidently cellar it for up to a decade.

Overall rating: 4.3333335 / 5 from 3 reviews.

Nice nice nice

"Grab this when it's on sale and it's a no brainer. A serious Cabernet and not a slouch."

Terence S. (4/5)

WOW

"The best Cab Sav I have drank in years. Do yourself a favour if you ever see this as a mystery again."

Darren W. (5/5)

balanced

"The wine manages to balance concentrated fruit with an almost lightweight body. Does not achieve exemplary Margaret River characteristics to me yet close enough. The TWC sale price of less than half RRP is the clincher."

Todd S. (4/5)
