Hand picked, whole-bunch pressed, free-run juice pressed to stainless steel, the pressings to large-format seasoned French oak. Matured 10 months on lees. The winemaker describes verduzzo as a red wine disguised as a white wine, such are the high phenolics in the grape skins. It's quite a striking feature, a must with food. Apple, hay, dried herbs, green olive bring a touch of the exotic. The palate has a grainy, honeysuckle, lanolin, nutty savouriness and edgy feel. Definitely an individual taste.
