Flowers, crushed rocks, ripe, fresh stony fruits, silky textures and elegance. There is volume, refinement, length and character found here from start to finish. The wine was made from blending 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, reaching 14.3% alcohol. The wine is aged in a combination of new and used French oak casks with 10% of the harvest being aged in amphora.
Intense aromas and flavors of blue fruit and violets. Hints of green tea and black olives. Changes all the time. Medium-to full-bodied with polished and very silky tannins. Love the center palate. The finish lasts for minutes. This year, about one-third cabernet franc gives an edge to the merlot and the touch of cabernet sauvignon.

A dense, rich red, yet the tannins are so fine and integrated with beautiful texture and finesse. It’s full-bodied, showing pretty balance and refinement with lots of exotic fruit and richness. Tight now. Try after 2024.

Panos Kakaviatos - Decanter
Impressive linearity and salinity. For once, I notice the winemaking, with greater fruit purity such as juicy plum and ripe blackberry. Gone is the drying finish of noticeable oak tannin from earlier vintages. 'In 15 years, this wine will be praised by all for its precision and freshness,' says estate consultant, Thomas Duclos. It is already lovely. Picking began on 20 September, much earlier in comparison to a previous solar year such as 2015 which saw no picking at all in September. Long finish. Enjoy with seared duck with mushrooms and roasted potatoes.

Jane Anson - Decanter
Well-located on the limestone slopes near Pavie, this has been under the ownership of Peter Kwok since 2017. Here he delivers a measured wine that has plenty of limestone character in a saline twist through the finish, while maintaining that St-Emilion gloss. Chocolate pods and just the right kind of bite; feels confident and with potential ahead. 30% new oak.

Peter Moser - Falstaff
Dark ruby, purple reflections, discreet watery edge at the rim. Delicate liquorice, black sweet cherry, tobacco notes, candied orange zest and a hint of cedar. Good complexity, sweet blackberry confit, integrated, supporting tannins, mineral, fine nougat, good length, will develop further, definite ageing potential.

Dark ruby, purple reflections, broad bright rim. Fine dark berry fruit, a breath of blackberries, delicate touch of noble wood, candied orange zests. Juicy, sweet fruit, round and harmonious, medium complexity, good freshness, sweet blackberries, mineral finish, already accessible, a versatile food wine.
