This iconic Shiraz is crafted from a small selection of exceptional Barossa vineyards, chosen for fruit of rare depth, colour and concentration. These parcels were affectionately called “Little Black Jewels” - small, intensely flavoured berries that showed the power and richness of the region at its best.
The fruit is picked slightly riper to build deeper colour, greater flavour intensity and a fuller, more generous mouthfeel. Each vineyard parcel is kept separate through crushing and early barrel maturation, allowing the winemaking team to assess its individual character before deciding whether it has the concentration and structure worthy of the Western Barossa region.
The final selection is made through an annual vintage classification, where only the most powerful and expressive Shiraz parcels are chosen. Over time, the winemaking has evolved from American oak to 100% French oak, with shorter oak maturation used to preserve balance, elegance and fruit purity.
The result is a deeply layered Barossa Shiraz that reflects the strength of old grower relationships, careful vineyard selection and a patient, traditional approach to winemaking.
