Tasting Notes

This Kingston Estate Echelon Petit Verdot 2016 is a delightfully deep and intense wine from the Riverland region of South Australia. It has an inviting ruby-red colour, and on the nose displays aromas of ripe blackberry, mulberry and blackcurrant, accented with a hint of tobacco. On the palate, there are rich, ripe flavours of dark fruits and savoury spice, supported by a smooth and velvety texture and balanced with a juicy acidity. Its finish is long and lingering, and has a pleasing, dry tannin structure. Enjoy this wine with a grilled steak or slow-cooked stew.

Petite Verdot

"A superb Petite Verdot"

Peter B. (5/5)

even better than expected

"Opulent, with an intense back-of-tongue blackberry cough syrup presence, which is tastier than it sounds. Needs 2+ hours of decanting to achieve its potential complexity, then shines. Perhaps a bit odd for some people but lovers of Petit Verdot and anyone with an inquisitive palate will approve. This is far better than Kingston's standard PV."
