Medium yellow gold with silver reflections. Rather restrained, fine peach fruit, delicate pineapple and honey blossom, fresh orange zest and a touch of new oak. Substantial and juicy with a pleasant sweetness that is well balanced by a suitable acidity, spicy finish, remains well lasting, ripe yellow tropical fruit in the aftertaste.

A ton of caramel and a whiff of smoke on the nose. Also big and ripe on the palate, but this is lacking a bit of freeness and the alcohol shows slightly.

Filhot is an estate that I often find has relatively high sulphur, and I find it again here, flattening the fruit and acidity. It has a silky texture and some lovely rich apricot flavours after a few moments in the glass, but I suggest a good long decanting before drinking.
