Continuing in the tradition of hard work and innovation established by William Lyne in 1826, Rodney and Lyn Lyne have planted 14.5 hectares of wine grapes at Spring Vale, principally Pinot Noir. Situated along the Freycinet Coast in North Eastern Tasmania, the modern day Spring Vale vineyard was planted in 1986. Further plantings were made in subsequent years with additions of Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and more Pinot Noir. In 2007, they aquired the neighbouring farm, Melrose, from which they now produce a lighter-style, single-vineyard Pinot Noir. Under the winemaking skill of Matt Wood, Spring Vale has flourished, and today produces a range of reds, whites and sparkling wine. But their main focus will always be their beautiful Pinot Noir.
