Andrew Santarossa and Matthew DiSciascio, two talented wine enthusiasts, came together through their shared passion for the art of winemaking and their Italian heritage. After crossing paths while studying their Bachelor of Wine Science at Deakin and Charles Sturt Universities, the duo realized that they had a lot in common and decided to join forces in pursuit of their dream. In 2013, the pair established their company with the goal of crafting exceptional wines that would showcase their expertise and cultural background. With meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of winemaking techniques, Andrew and Matthew set out to source the finest grapes from the most renowned regions in Australia. Their commitment to quality and their strong friendship led to the birth of SANTA & D’SAS, a label that embodies their joint vision and reflects their Italian heritage. The brand quickly gained recognition, prompting the duo to expand their production and source grapes primarily from the King Valley, known for its cool climate and ideal growing conditions. Additional grapes are also carefully selected from Heathcote and Swan Hill, ensuring a diverse range of flavours in their wines.
