Roberto Voerzio established his own winery in La Morra in 1986. Beginning with just 2 hectares, Roberto and his family have succeeded in acquiring some of the most prestigious and historic crus of Barolo: La Serra, Brunate, Cerequio, Sarmassa, Rocche dell'Annunziata and Fossati, plus excellent vineyards for Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo Langhe and Merlot.
Roberto and son Davide have been gradually increasing the planting density to 6000-8000 vines per hectare, and reduced their yields for their most prestigious wines to 500-700 grams per plant. This is achieved through short pruning and significant bunch thinning beginning. Roberto says “The clusters we leave on our vines are exclusively responsible for the quality of our wine.”
For more than thirty years, Roberto and now Davide have worked their vineyards with the greatest respect for nature and in the cellar follow a traditional path to allow the diversity of each vineyard and each vintage to emerge.
