Mud House

Here, is yet another Marlborough-based NZ interloper that has landed on our Aussie shores. Founded in 1996, Mud House prides itself on sourcing fruit from various New Zealand regions whilst exploring the regionality of the South Island. Like most wineries in New Zealand, Mud House manage their 400-hectares of vineyard sites in Marlborough, Waipara and Central Otago in a sustainable manner. The first vines were established in 1994 with the majority being planted between 2001 and 2004. The vineyards cover plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer with the 81-hectare Central Otago vineyard being 100% Pinot Noir. Winemaker Cleighten Cornelius joined the Mud House team in 2012. After a decade of winemaking, his focus remains unchanged - "to make the best wine possible!"
