Mount Eyre Vineyards is a dynamic and forward-thinking boutique wine producer located in the idyllic Hunter Valley region of Australia. Our winery embodies the energy and vision of the modern Australian wine industry, offering a diverse range of wines that cater to all budgets and tastes.
We take great pride in our commitment to terroir, and our three properties – the Three Ponds, Holman Estate, and Honeytree Estate – are among the finest in the entire Hunter Valley. Our story began in Broke village, where our vineyard was planted in the 1970s by Neil Grosser, who still manages it alongside his son David.
In the mid-1990s, the Gillies family purchased the property and named it Mount Eyre. It was later divided into grazing land and vineyards, and in 1999, the Iannuzzi and Tsironis families acquired the Mount Eyre Vineyards. Today, our Three Ponds vineyard boasts a variety of grapes such as semillon, fiano, verdelho, chardonnay, and chambourcin, with a few old shiraz vines for historical significance.
Our second property, the Holman Estate, is situated in the heart of the Hunter Valley vineyard and tourist zone on Gillard Road. The deep red loam of this estate has proven to be the backbone of many exceptional Hunter Valley red wines. It is home to shiraz, merlot, and nero d'avola vines, as well as our guesthouse and a charming olive grove.
In 2021, we added our third premium property, the Honeytree Estate, also located on Gillards Road. This estate features deep red loams and is planted with semillon, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon vines that are over 50 years old. After 23 successful vintages, we are excited to announce the launch of our cellar door at Honeytree in 2022.
