The climate in Campo de Borja is hot, dry, and windy, with an average rainfall of only 350-450mm. This extreme continental climate is ideal for growing grapes, as it allows for maximum sun exposure and minimal disease pressure. The soils here are a unique blend of limestone, calcareous stones, and ferrous clay, providing the perfect foundation for the vines to thrive.
With a winemaking history dating back to 1145, Legado Del Moncayo pays homage to this legacy with their name, which translates to 'Legacy of Moncayo'. Their vineyards, located in Ainzon, are home to younger Garnacha Negra and Garnacha Blanca vines, as well as older vines up to 750m.
