Born and raised in a family of winemakers, Anthony's passion for the craft was instilled in him from a young age. After working at his family's estate, he decided to broaden his horizons and gain experience in wineries around the globe. However, his heart always remained in Sancerre, his hometown, and he longed to return and create wines true to his "sancerroises origins."
In 2012, Anthony's dream became a reality when he was presented with the rare opportunity to acquire an 8.5-hectare estate. The name "La Clef du Récit," meaning "The key of the story," was inspired by a symbolic gesture from the local press during the opening ceremony - presenting Anthony with a large key to the estate. This key now serves as a constant reminder of his journey and passion for winemaking.
Since taking over the estate, Anthony has managed his vines according to organic principles, showcasing his deep respect for the land and environment. The majority of his vineyards are planted on Caillottes soils, known for their gravel and limestone composition, which adds a refreshing and fruity quality to the wines. The remaining vines are grown on flinty soils, adding a distinct minerality to the wines. In the winery, Anthony follows a minimalist approach, allowing the wines to express their full varietal potential without interference.
