Chateau De L'escarelle

Perfectly located among the green hills of Provence, Château de l'Escarelle's vineyard is forever evolving and renewing itself. The property's 100 hectares of vines flourish in a beautiful protected green setting of 1,000 hectares. The vines are planted on soil consisting of limestone pebbles, on terraces separated by dry-stone walls at an altitude of up to 500 metres, harmoniously following the shape of Escarelle's hills and montagne de la Loube. This variation in altitude contributes to the terroir's special character, enabling the vinification of very expressive wines, thereby defining Escarelle's unique, sophisticated signature. « The right grape variety is selected for each plot » Our various grapes varieties, consisting of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Rolle and Caladoc have been carefully selected for each terroir, and each plot… The rosés, rich in Cinsault and Grenache, are fruity, elegant and sensual. The whites, a blend of Rolle and Ugni Blanc, offer citrus aromas, with good acidity and a pleasant roundness on the palate. A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault ensure that Escarelle's reds can be ages in cellar for many years. Our top-of-the-range reds are aged in oak barrels. Their aromas of ripe fruit, vanilla and undergrowth end on a slightly spicy note. The estate's owner is deeply committed to preserving and bringing out the best in this natural environment that has so much potential, and has undertaken various projects, such as the restoration of existing buildings for wine and nature tourism, and also an organic certification of the entire estate.
