Designed to be enjoyed now, The Muscat family, quite a diverse group of characters, are often used to make Moscato styles – sweet, lightly sparkling and low alcohol. These can vary a lot but the best ones balance bright fruit sweetness with fresh acidity. For the new Petit Moscato, De Bortoli have selected a family member known for its poise and elegance – Muscat Rouge à Petits Grains. So lush! Rose petals and lychees pirouette from the glass. There’s strawberry sherbet and delicate Turkish delight with a twist of lime. It’s sweet but not cloying, with a lovely creamy fizz and fresh acidity.
For a wine that is all about party there’s complexity too – baskets full of strawberries, Persian fairy floss, musk sticks, pink grapefruit and pomegranate seeds that burst on your tongue. At 7% alcohol, this is perfect for slow sipping on hot summer days or perhaps with brunch. Serve it with summer fruit salad filled with red berries, white stone fruit and topped with a dollop of creamy Greek yoghurt.

Pressed and fermented cold, stopping once a balance was reached between alcohol, sweetness, acidity and bubbles.
Soft, tea-rose pink hues. Inviting scents of Turkish delight, strawberry, nougat and rose. Grapey aromatics are turned up to 11 on the palate with its sherbety freshness and bubbly energy. The degree of sweetness is masterfully controlled, just right, allowing fresh acidity to clean the palate on the finish. Top summer drinking.

There's no doubt about it, moscato does a joyously grapey, sweet bubbly with bounce better than most. Here it is spreading highly perfumed aromatics in Turkish delight, rose petal, spice and summer berries. That floral intensity fills the mouth with a strawberry, watermelon sorbet sweetness, swept clean by a light bubble and crunchy acidity.

The muscat petits grains grape shines so bright, so joyously sweet and grapey and yet so low in alcohol in this larger-than-life pink moscato. There's a lot to like here from the Turkish delight, strawberry and spice scent to the sorbet-like tang of citrus and summer berries that brightens the palate. Zesty acidity is key to its clean, fresh finish.

If you are after something low in alcohol and super tasty with a high sweetness factor, look no further. Think pavlova with a pillowy softness. Pink salmon hues and a scent of summer berries, hints of Turkish delight, rose petal and just-picked crunchy grapes. A sweet, succulent bubbly delivered with brisk acidity.

Huon Hooke - The Real Review
Light, bright pink colour with a slight tint of purple and a thick foam of bubbles. The aroma is fresh and clean and fruity with a strongly muscat-like grapy scent. It's fizzy and frothy and gently sweet in the mouth, with attractive simple muscat fruit flavour of some intensity and length. An excellent example of a pink moscato style.
