Pale straw, bright nectarine stone fruit, red and green apples, candied fruit and perhaps a note of barrel fermentation complexity. The palate is even, glassy textured, long and fresh. Purity of fruit first and foremost. It will doubt improve with some cork aged maturity, if that's your thing.

Light, fresh, youthful pink colour, with a bouquet of straw, dried herbs and other savoury, not-grapy nuances. It's full of flavour, fruit and richness augmented by obvious liqueur sweetness which is in turn countered by refreshing acidity. A wine of some charm, which cries out for a food accompaniment.

New wine to De Bortoli’s “La Boheme” range. 93% chardonnay. More or less a crowd-pleasing style though there’s an itch of ‘seriousness’. In any case it’s light and fluffy. All citrus, musk, red apple and sweet bread. It gets the texture and flavour right though there isn’t a great deal of finish.
