A zesty wine with notes of nashi pear, Jazz apple and fresh quinces. A hint of loquat and yellow melon. Lemon skin citrus and leisurely flow to the acidity. It’s laden with pear nectar fruit weight and a note of ginger jellies. A touch of white tea tannins and grip on the finish that adds an element of mealiness. A wine for silky chawanmushi custard or sauteed oyster mushrooms.

Adelaide Hills fruit fermented on solids in foudre, old oak and stainless steel prior to four months on lees. Pear skin, custard apple, pretty spring florals, nashi pear, a dusting of spice and a shake from the salt shaker round out a perfumed nose. It’s the texture on the palate that really lifts this up a notch, with oak and fruit solids providing a complex weave to cushion the fruit. There is a delightful fruit sweetness that hums along here, but this is all about the textural weight. There’s plenty going on, with a tiptoe of acidity that keeps the party moving. Love the eyebrow lifting kick of fresh nutmeg and ginger spice on the finish. A cracker for summer salads.

This is a punter friendly wine if ever there was one. It’s fruity, it’s soft, it’s delicious. Sweet pear and red apple flavour do all the work, and very pleasant work it is too. This wine is simple in the most untaxing and pleasurable of ways.

This sees some parts of the blend matured in oak barrels and on lees. It's a textural, slippery, generous flavour profile with hallmark pear and gingery perfume, and echo of similar to taste. Lots of character, very vibrant, easy to drink, not particularly detailed, but a great glug of true-blue gris is on hand.
