Ray Jordan - Winepilot
Several different blocks and clones have contributed to a very tidy young Chardonnay. A feature is its texture and beautiful mouthfeel with flavours of melon, light cashew and a little melon. The oak has been lightly applied with just a small amount of new oak to lift and spice things up. Further complexity comes from the lees stirring approach. A balanced and highly appealing Chardonnay.

Sourced mostly from Wilyabrup, this sees 50% French oak (10% new) and 50% stainless steel. Soft aromas of grapefruit and white nougat lead, followed by dehydrated lime, pear, flickers of cedar and a hint of flint. The palate delivers a bright burst of fruit – lime, peach, white grapefruit, lemon peel and pear – underpinned by subtle cedar and flint. There’s a chalky grip to the sides and an ample wash of citrus to close. It doesn’t reach for great complexity or power, but it’s a Chardonnay that speaks clearly of Margaret River, and it delivers strong regional character at a fair price.

Fresh, citrus-driven aromas of lemon peel, grapefruit, orange blossoms and flint. The midweight palate has lively acidity and a generous texture. Bright and linear with a nice reductive touch in the finish.

Straw in colour but the interest is on the palate. It’s frisky and limey on the one hand, but custardy and rich on the other. Lemonade, lemongrass, honeysuckle and peach characters get the party started. It’s dry, almost stony through the finish. It’s this-way-and-that but it works.
Erin Larkin - Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2024 Miamup Chardonnay is lean and nutty, with lemon acidity and pink grapefruit aromatics. 2024 was a hot, dry season in Margaret River—the hottest and driest on record, in fact. While the freshness of this wine is something to be lauded, the heat likely necessitated earlier picking, and this is evident in the taut acid line, which thrums like a plucked guitar string. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
