Pale straw in the glass with aromas of grapefruit, lemon and nectarine fruits. Hints of crushed quartz, white flowers, clover blossom, mineral saline and ozone. It swells on the palate, immediately becoming increasingly lemony and zesty, with just a daub of curd, stone and a super-tight minerally line as it fades off into the distance.

The 2024 Chardonnay Cloudline is well pitched, offering up bright and finely detailed aromas of nougat, grapefruit and dried flowers with a subtle lining of oak. This is medium-bodied with good volume of flavor, fresh acidity and restrained oak in an elegant and perfectly balanced package, fleshing out over a long, fine finish. The 2024 is a brilliant value.

This has added a bit more flesh to its bones than it had in previous releases. It’s better for it. Stonefruit flavours push confidently through the palate, peach and apricot mostly, with pear and apple flavours adding some zing. It’s juicy and generous, but it has good line too.
