Hunter valley

2023 Tyrrells Belford Chardonnay

I reach for the Belford 2023 because it brings together bold Hunter Valley generosity and refined site-specific precision — luscious white peach and grapefruit zest dance through talc-fine texture, while subtle French oak and bright acidity keep it polished, not opulent. It’s the sort of Chardonnay I’ll drink now with joie de vivre, and revisit later as it deepens — both immediate joy and future reward

Tasting Notes

Pale, bright green colour, the nose is intense with white peach, some citrus, dry straw and powerful oak in the background. The palate is not unlike the Belford Semillon in that there is a dense and robust nature to the fruit weight, with plenty of peaches and cream, and bright acidity. These rich flavours are balanced nicely by the textural elements from the solids ferment, and extended time on yeast lees.
