A riot of subregionally typical characters bursts from the glass, from green grass and jalapeño pepper to passion fruit and lime. The palate is light and bright with gently slippery texture and that balance of green veg and fresh fruit to the long, prickly finish.

Considering the fruit for this 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is from the Awatere sub-region of Marlborough, there's a surprisingly full, round and glycerol-rich texture here. It has a ripe style with classic passion fruit flavors while retaining those greener edges of gooseberry and elderflower with a flinty, salty hint on the balanced but citrus-driven finish. This is balanced and well-judged.

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Awatere Valley is true to its origins. This cool, windy subregion of Marlborough provides characteristic green aromatics, brightness and tension. Fully dry, light in body but with decent concentration, it has a flavor profile of green capsicum, green pea, mint and lime citrus. It fades a little quicker than I’d like.
