Rich and brooding, the wine shows blackcurrant, ripe cherry, vanilla, game and roasted hazelnut aromas on the nose, followed by a generously textured mouthfeel offering plump mouthfeel combined with fine-grained tannins, finishing long and delectable.

Ken Gargett - Winepilot

If ever there was a winery where the labels attract as much attention as the contents, these guys must be it. Very much love-them-or-hate-them stuff. Personally, love them. This is a blend of 51% Frankland River Malbec and 49% Margaret River with ten months in French oak barriques. There is depth and concentration here, showing notes of chocolate, dry herbs, bay leaves, aniseed and blackfruits. We see hints of roast meats emerge here and there. This is a slightly blocky style, not uncommon for the variety, with a firm finish good grip but excellent length. A ten year proposition. Those who enjoy a bit of power in their reds will be all over this.

The 2022 Voodoo Moon Malbec is minty and lean, with graphite and star anise, spice and blackberry. The fruit is somewhat lush—although less than I expected from this warm season—which I like, and it leans into the peppercorns and aniseed qualities of the fruit, which was sourced from both Margaret River and Frankland River. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
