Season
A relatively wet start to the 2022 season with high rainfall in winter and full soil moisture profiles in spring. A very dry but unseasonably cool summer resulted in a long and steady ripening period across both whites and reds. This aided fruit intensity and flavour development whilst maintaining great natural acidity.
Vinification
The fruit was carefully harvested and fermented with whole berries, with some parcels co-fermented with estate Viognier. The wine was then matured in a mix of seasoned French oak barrels, using both wild and selected yeasts to bring out vibrant varietal flavors.
