Jane Faulkner - Halliday's Wine Companion
If I had to pick one region for its shiraz, Canberra District has my heart. The aromatics, the quality fruit, the plush palate, everything just comes together to produce a fine-boned red. Heywood is no exception. Dark fruit, spicy, cedary oak just a bit player, the shapely detailed tannins, the fine acidity and the overall feel of this wine are all remarkable.
