The database neatness thing I have forces me to include the producer name in the title, rather than just ‘3 by Attwoods’. I do love a well formatted list. Some people may know I have an IT background, and have written and designed enterprise scale software systems from a very early age. I once showed MB an example of source code that I’d knocked up, and he said something along the lines of “Holy f*ck! That is insane.” And for all that, I still have way more of an arts/literature/history/music bent, being hopeless at mathematics and most other science things, aside biology. Just a bit of background, anyway.
Interesting sort of wine here. It’s dusty, peppery, sort of amaro-laced with orange peel, and aromatic dried herbs. It’s a little bit mulchy and autumnal, with baked plum and dried strawberry flavours. Tannin has a positive impact, and the acidity is tangy and adds some energy to the wine. The finish is dry and dusty, with a sweet/sour/spicy character, along with some powdery grip of tannin. It’s a quirky example of Pinot Noir, and yet, I quite like it. Invariably, I like an interesting wine over something more prosaic, and this is certainly an interesting wine. I’ve used that word three (3) times, so it must be so.
